VIDEO: journalists brutally arrested in Algiers

This morning, the police arrested a number of journalists who had gathered in Algiers to protest for a free press and against the current regime.

More than one hundred journalists, photographers, cameramen who came to protest, were violently detained by a strong police presence deployed around the protest. These arrests come only two days after Reporters Without Borders denounced the authoritarian attitude of the Bouteflika regime.

UPDATE: Reports of the journalists being tased inside the vans emerged, with some being injured and requiring medical attention.
