A 26-year-old man was arrested by the National Gendarmerie on the 6th of March after he murdered his younger sister in the Tolga commune, part of the Wilaya of Biskra.
According to media sources, the young man killed his 20-year-old sister after hearing rumours of a “bad reputation”. After being told that his sister had a boyfriend at university, the brother proceeded to murder her in what witnesses described as a “rage“.
The suspect stabbed his sister a number of times, leaving her unconscious before the latter, seriously injured, was evacuated to the emergency room where doctors were unable to save her life.
The 26-year-old was immediately arrested by officers of the National Gendarmerie. He was subsequently brought before the public prosecutor who decided to place him under arrest. The defendant will soon be brought before the criminal court of Biskra, where he will be tried for premeditated murder.
