New revelations of corruption have emerged regarding the Qatar’s controversial bid for hosting the World Cup. According to the British daily The Sunday Times, new evidence suggests that the host country of the World Cup has bribed FIFA in order to get to host the next World Cup.

The Sunday Times claims to hold evidence of the existence of payments of $880 million in total which ensured Qatar’s victory in the vote held in December 2010.

The Qatari-owned Al-Jazeera television channel, is alleged to have made two payments of $400 million and $480 million to Fifa in a secret broadcasting deal.
