1 min read

Rachis Nekkaz, a candidate for the upcoming presidential election has once again been prevented from flying to his home country by the French authorities.

The political opponent’s hurdles continue. This time, he was held at Marseille airport for several hours. The activist filmed his exchanges with French agents who refused to provide an explanation that could justify this particular treatment. The candidate for the candidacy accuses the Algerian authorities of being at the origin of the problems he encounters during his travels between Algeria and France. Rachid Nekkaz had to transit through Barcelona to be able to return to Algiers.

For the past few years, the Algerian authorities have been arbitrarily refusing to renew his passport and driving license, in complete violation of the country’s constitution, which on paper grants equal rights to everyone.
